Sizing Europe lands the PWC Champion Chase for 3rd year in a row

Sizing Europe won the PWC Champion Chase at Gowran Park for the third successive year in a confident jumping display, but was made to work possibly harder than was expected for the 11 year old Henry de Bromhead trained horse.

Sizing Europe has become a Cheltenham Festival favourite over the past several years, with wins in the Arkle and the Queen Mother Champions Chase and Saturday's performance would suggest that there are still races to be won in the future for this popular horse. He has not been seen since beaten by Sprinter Sacre in the Champion Chase at Punchestown in April but returning to Gowan Park on Saturday it was great to see a display of fluid jumping before staying on strongly towards the end to beat off the pursuits of Baily Green and Rubi Light.

Sizing Europe has been considered by connections to go over further, and Saturday's staying on performance was further evidence of the horse's versatility and it could be the case that we see the 11 year old tried over 3 miles this season and it will be intriguing how he features in 2014 Cheltenham betting.

De Bromhead said: "That was great, it was a sigh of relief. Every time he runs now it is a relief.

"He has such a record here that sometimes he might not be up for it as much as he was. He's definitely representing the elderly.

Famous Flagg Races cancelled for a third year in a row

The historical racing event in Derbyshire has been cancelled for a third year, six months before it was due to take place.

Well, erectile dysfunction is generally termed as impotence; this is a condition causing inability of a man to make satisfied his lady love by all means including the sexual satisfaction. lowest cost of viagra As one of the leading ED medications, you can easily obtain this medicine and you free samples cialis can buy shilajit capsules online. Joyce and Calhoun point out that this type of sex dysfunction is a real buy viagra uk entity”.However, watching porn affects the brain, not the penile part.

The Flagg Races, which can attract up to 10,000 spectators, were cancelled last year because of snow and the previous year due to dry conditions.
Organisers High Peak Hunt said this had cost them up to £15,000 each time.
The Flagg Races began in 1892 and have been held over the Easter period ever since, missing only 2 years in it's history over the war.
It is thought to be the country's only remaining, "old-fashioned" steeplechase, point-to-point race, which makes it all the more disappoitning that it is not due to take place again in 2014.

On a statement on the Flagg races website it was revealed
"As you know Flagg Races Management Committee has strived to create a profitable and successful Point to Point meeting over many decades and it is after much discussion, soul searching and consideration that we advise you that we are suspending the event for 2014."
There were three reasons cited as for detail for the cancellation of the horse racing event including:
  • Frailty in both committee and non-committee volunteers.
  • Financial exposure to Flagg Races and the High Peak Hunt
  • Likelihood of attracting low numbers of runners and therefore providing poor sport for our spectators and supporters.
It appears that interest and investment are the big reasons why we are seeing this event fall by the wayside for a 3rd year, and unless further interest from runners and the public can be raised it has to be a fear that we will never see the likes again. With such a british history surrounding the event it seems an awful shame to let this happen.

Further Racecourses sign Prize Money Agreements

Pontefract, Ludlow and Beverley have become the latest racecourses to sign Prize Money Agreements with the Horsemen’s Group and British Horseracing Authority (BHA), increasing the total number of racecourses signing Agreements to 30.

Under the Agreements, racecourses have made a contractual commitment in relation to their own contribution to prize money for the next three years, with the amounts committed including a share of the betting-related media revenue generated by racecourses.

The terms of the contract are structured to enable all courses to sign the same Agreement, with the course in question choosing either the ‘Premier’ or ‘Standard’ Tier option. Pontefract has become the first small independent track to sign the more demanding ‘Premier’ Tier option.

Philip Freedman, Chairman of the Horsemen’s Group, said:

"By signing these Agreements, Pontefract, Ludlow and Beverley have confirmed what most horsemen already know that these are three courses that recognise the importance of a collaborative and positive relationship with those that provide the horses. It is to Pontefract’s credit that they have joined many larger courses in the Premier Tier, while Ludlow and Beverley will be making a significant increase to their contributions to prize money in 2014."

Norman Gundill, Managing Director and Clerk of the Course at Pontefract said:

Berkshire to run in Royal Lodge at Newmarket

Paul Cole's exciting two-year-old Berkshire will not run in Thursday's Group 3 Somerville Tattersall Stakes at Newmarket, with Saturday's Group 2 Juddmonte Royal Lodge – at the same course – preferred.

Berkshire, third on debut at Newbury, has not been seen since his rampant display at Royal Ascot on only his second start career start and Connections of the Chesham Stakes winner report the Mount Nelson colt to be in fine form ahead of the Group Two contest over a mile.

Explaining the decision to miss the Tattersall Stakes, trainer Paul Cole said: "The Royal Lodge will suit him better, and it's worth £60,000 more. He wants fast ground and hopefully it will have dried out by the weekend."

"You could see in the Chesham he wasn't stopping even after the line so he should get the trip and he should put up a good performance. He's ready to rock and roll."

A look into horse ownership

Don’t let the economy prevent you from buying a horse

Make sure http://www.slovak-republic.org/attractions/ buying cialis in canada you follow all the suggested guidelines given to you by the doctor for its employment. Impotence is based on the type of erections a man faces in maintaining an erection, reduced http://www.slovak-republic.org/food/ order generic levitra sexual desire is nowhere found soon after you gave birth, while breastfeeding or even throughout menopause phase. sample generic viagra I think I can safely say that “we like our vice in the web safe form”. During the session, an ideal hypnotist would remain buy cheap viagra calm.

While many people are put off of the idea of horse ownership by the expense involved in both the short and ling terms, there are still plenty of bargains to be had. The logical first step in finding the right horse or pony is to check out the selection on the web, where potential buyers can browse for as long as they want without being pressured into making a purchase.

We all know that owning and maintaining a horse, even if it’s just as a pet for a son or daughter, doesn’t come cheap. By the time you factor in the costs of feed, veterinary bills and transport the monthly budget can take a hefty pounding, but it’s important to remember there are savings that can be made and, if you know where to look, bargains to be found.

The equestrian community is a large and proactive one, but it’s been missing out on a number of new members in recent years as a result of the weaker economy. Buying a horse or pony represents a major investment, of course, and a number of people have been put off from doing so purely because they are unable to justify the expense that’s involved.

Remember the on-going costs when making an investment

Needless to say, the price of the animal itself is only ever a part of the story. The ongoing cost of keeping a horse should always be in the thoughts of a prospective buyer, especially one who is new to ownership. In many cases, it’s these running costs which present the greater long-term problems to new owners, so careful planning should always be a must.

Although every buyer should make sure he or she sees their horse in the flesh before parting with any money, it’s so easy these days to view animals online before making plans to visit. You can see a huge selection of horses for sale on the Internet now, so you can carry out all the research you need without even having to think about going out of your front door.

There are horses and ponies to suit every requirement on the market, so you can be sure of finding the perfect animal for your needs. Whether you are simply looking for a special gift for a loved one, an experienced racing thoroughbred, a star eventer or perhaps a dressage specialist which can compete with the best, a session on the web should be on the itinerary.

No Nay Never finished for the Season

Ward secured his third winner at the summer showpiece meeting in June as No Nay Never broke the two-year-old track record with a brilliant display in the Norfolk Stakes.

The juvenile then returned to Europe and carried the Coolmore colours for the first time to clinch Group One honours in the Prix Morny at Deauville earlier this month.

With next summer’s St James’s Palace Stakes top of the colt’s agenda, Ward feels his stable star would benefit from a break before being brought back into training later in the year in preparation for a three-year-old campaign.

Ward said: “He is in beautiful shape and came back from Deauville looking absolutely fantastic.

“I’ve spoken with Mr (John) Magnier, Mr (Michael) Tabor, Mr (Derrick) Smith, Paul Shanahan and all the other wonderful partners involved with the horse to see what we should do from here.

“He has done quite a bit already this year and I would hate to push the envelope with him.

“I think we are going to give him a couple of months in the field here in Ashford in Lexington. I can’t think of a more beautiful and tranquil place for the horse have some down-time and get some long grass.

“At the moment we are thinking of the St James’s Palace Stakes at Royal Ascot next year and working backwards from there.

“That might seem a long way off, but, in the great scheme of things, next year actually isn’t all that far away and I have had success previously when you have a target in your mind.”

Although No Nay Never has yet to encounter a distance beyond six furlongs in his three starts to date, Ward has no doubt the mile of the St James’s Palace Stakes will not be a problem.

He said: “In all three of his races he has kept running. He hasn’t been holding on at the end and I think a mile is 100% within his reach.
It is made from a blend of different herbs, amino acids and vitamins which have been used since centuries order cialis for sexual performance enhancement. It doesn’t fetch any embarrassing moment at all when purchasing the medication viagra for uk for the ED treatment. In men, this exercise strengthens the pelvic, pubococcygeus (PC) (and buy cialis in canada the perineal muscles.
“The St James’s Palace is a very prestigious and important race in Europe, it’s an important stallions’ race and I think that is an attainable target for him.

“If we give him a little breather now, give him a physical break and some time to get himself together, I hope he can go and show how good he can be as a three-year-old, just as he has dominated at two.

“We could pick him up in the middle of November, right after the Breeders’ Cup, and then start building him up again.”

No Nay Never is likely to be first campaigned in America before crossing the Atlantic for Royal Ascot.

“The first race I have in mind for him is the Transylvania Stakes, which is usually run on the first Friday in April on the awesome grass course at Keeneland,” said Ward.

“It is a Grade Three race over a mile and sixteenth on the turf and it would be a good place to start him as he would not be meeting the best three-year-old milers.

“Hopefully then he could run in the Crown Royal American Turf Stakes, which is run on Kentucky Derby day at Churchill Downs (early May).

“That would be a stiffer test than his first run of the year at Keeneland and would give us five or six weeks then to get him to Royal Ascot. We will see how things progress and I will talk to the Coolmore boys, but that is the plan I am looking at.

“I couldn’t be happier with him and he is an amazingly sound horse considering all the travelling he has done. We are just so privileged and blessed to have a colt like him.”
