Paddy Power Gold Cup Entires

The ante-post favourite, Dynaste, for the Paddy Power Gold Cup at Cheltenham on November 16, will miss Wetherby this Saturday but could start his season off in the Grade 3 trainer David Pipe has revealed.

"He's not going to run now at Wetherby. We are going to wait for the Paddy Power or the Betfair," Pipe said.

"The idea was to run at Wetherby, but he worked a bit flat (on Tuesday) and we are now going to wait for one of the other two races.

"I was speaking to his owner earlier and I think we'll leave it until closer to the time (to decide which one). Preference had been for the Betfair at Haydock, but he is entered in the Paddy Power and is 5-1 favourite for that.

Nicky Henderson has revealed that Finian's Rainbow could be "very interesting" among his seven entries for the horse racing event next month.

Henderson has also entered Captain Conan, Rajdhani Express, Nadiya De La Vega, Kid Cassidy, Triolo D'Alene and Ma Filleule, and appears to hold a strong hand.On the subject of his runners, the trainer said:

"Captain Conan could go, as could Nadiya De La Vega – she ran a very good race last year.

"Finian's Rainbow would be the very interesting one because he has had a wind operation and I am very hopeful that he will come back to himself.

Jonjo O'Neill has also won the Paddy Power Gold Cup once as a trainer in 2006 with Exotic Dancer.

His entry this year is Johns Spirit, who warmed up for next month's showpiece with victory at Cheltenham in the two and a half-mile Equus-Fine Dining at The Festival Handicap Chase on October 19.
